Michigan Taal

We further our initiative of sharing the beauty of fusion dance styles across Michigan and the rest of the nation through national level dance competitions and performances. Our team works to keep the ancient classical dance styles of Bharatantyam and Kathak alive on our campus and beyond through our choreography and performances, in addition to incorporating additional folk styles of dance from Northern and Southern India, such as Bhangra, Raas and Kuthu. In addition, we work to spread our dance styles and culture specifically to younger, diverse Western audiences by captivating their attention with more modern Western styles of dance like Hip Hop and Contemporary. We utilize the mix and choreography we create to perform on campus at Michigan as well during various on-campus dance and/or music recitals. During our performances, our pure intent is to share the beauty and culture behind our art.
