As stated in its articles of incorporation, the corporation's mission and purpose is to present authentic and varied activities to recognize, showcase, and preserve Beaver Island's unique Irish Heritage including its connection to arranmore Island, county donegal, ireland, to engage and enrich the quality the quality of life of residents and visitors to Beaver Island. BIIHG's signature event is the annual emerald isle Irish feile, BIIHG solicits, receives, and administers funds for reasonably related purposes as set forth in section 501(c)3 of the internal revenue code, including making distributions for such purposes to other organizations that qualify as exempt organizations under irc section 501(c)3.
