Our purpose is to enroll children in Dolly Partons Imagination Library children are enrolled from birth onward and age out at five Once enrolled children get a high quality age-appropriate book in the mail each month at no cost to the family until they turn five The program is open to all children and absolutely free The books are mailed to the child and their to keep We enroll children and then raise funds to pay half of the cost of the books Once enrolled we pay for books until the child turns five so we must establish sufficient funds for those out year costs The Commonwealth of Virginia pays half of the cost of the books and those funds go directly to the Dolly Parton Imagination Library Each month we receive an invoice that is based on how many children we have enrolled and the cost of buying and mailing books to them As an all-volunteer charity we have very few expenses other than the cost of books such as insurance and some promotional costs
