The objectives of this Local union shall be to unite into one labor organization, through the authority of the membership as defined in article v, all workers eligible for membership, regardless of religion, race, creed, color, national origin, age, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, marital status, physical or mental disability, or political affiliation or opinion, to secure improved working conditions, wages, hours, and other economic and social advantages for its members; to promote the rights of workers and the security and welfare of all people by political, educational and other community activity; to secure the promotion or rejection of legislation affecting the membership; and to inform, advise, and educate its members and all workers in the principles of the international federation of professional and technical engineers and of the benefits to be derived through collective bargaining and joint action.
