The organization established and maintains a horse sanctuary that serves to protect the lives of one of America's natural treasures. The sanctuary provides a refuge for wild mustang horses that otherwise would have been held in short term holding facilities by the bureau of land management or may have been sold to slaughter houses. The sanctuary provides feeding and care for hundreds of mustang horses and permits them to roam freely on the sanctuary property. The care of the horses include costs for watering the horses, care of pump, pipes, etc., and labor to move the horses when necessary due to extreme weather conditions. Some of the Mustangs have been trained to permit human interaction. Such interaction allows caregivers and other personnel to get close to the horses and serves as a memorable and lasting form of public outreach.
