Torrance Chorale Friends

The Torrance civic Chorale, as part of the city of Torrance department of recreation, has been in existence for over 20 years. Since 1979, the members of this Chorale have been organized to raise funds for needs which the city does not meet. In 1986, the Chorale was informed by the city that it could no longer raise funds to keep bank accounts; so this organization, the Torrance Chorale Friends, was formed to meet the Chorale's continuing needs. By definition, any member of the Torrance civic Chorale, a group singing class under the umbrella of the city of Torrance department of recreation, is a member of the Torrance Chorale Friends. Each member holds equal status and is entitled to one vote in any election. The board of directors is elected from this membership.
