The School was located on the grounds of the United States embassy in Damascus, syria. Its primary mission was to educate American diplomatic and business dependents living in Damascus and its suburbs from the international, diplomatic and business communities.due to the violence and extremely dangerous conditions in syria, the School was forced to temporarily close on january 26, 2012 and eventually forced to close permanently on august 31, 2019. Since then the only expenses were the required payments to former employees.
