The American organization of nurse leaders (aonl), formerly known as the American organization of nurse executives (aone), founded in 1967, is anational organization of nurses who design, facilitate, and manage care and has more than 8,700 members nationwide. Aonl provides leadership, professional development, advocacy and research in its effort to advance the nursing professsion and patient care, promotes nursing leadership excellence and shapes heal th care public policy.
