To support restoration, maintenance and preservation of the historically and architecturally significant buildings and related structures located at 1320-1324 Massachusetts Avenue, cambridge, ma 02138 in the harvard square conservation district and completed in 1891, and the building located at 8 holyoke street cambridge, ma 02138 in the harvard square conservation district and completed in 1925 (the aforesaid buildings, collectively, the porcellian club), and the porcellian gate located in the harvard square conservation district and completed in 1901 (the the porcellian gate), and their supporting infrastructure. Secondary purposes include promoting an appreciation of the life of joseph mckean, founder of the porcellian club in 1791 and graduate of harvard college in the class of 1794 , and the historical significance of the porcellian club's members, through research and education.
