The purpose of the corporation shall be to cultivate and develop informed and involved citizens working to make Johnson County a community of citizens who value diversity, create a vibrant democracy, have a passion for community involvement, have a strong sense of history, County identity, and regional influence, and work to improve the physical, social, and cultural well-being of all County residents. In furtherance of this purpose, the corporation shall provide professional development training through various programs including, but not limited to: the LJC signature program, LJC youth Leadership academy, LJC select workshops, and Leadership to your door. The programming is carried out in a series of sessions whose content, frequency, and schedule are to be determined annually by the board of trustees.
