The specific and primary purpose of the Orphan Therapeutics Accelerator is to engage in charitable and scientific activities within the meaning of Section 501(c)(3) of the Code, including, but not limited to, the following activities: a. Providing, expanding access to, and resolving barriers to the development of therapeutic resources in the form of drugs, therapies, and other related treatments to rare diseases (collectively, the "Therapies"), so as to provide accessible treatments and potential cures to rare diseases that, otherwise, would not be available (such purposes, the "Charitable Purposes"). B. Addressing and resolving scientific barriers to development of the Therapies, which the Accelerator will accomplish via research as it acquires and shepherds the Therapies through late-stage clinical trials, so as to provide accessible treatments and potential cures for rare diseases without known and accessible treatments (such purposes, the "Scientific Purposes").
